You Found Me: Life in the Throttled Era

Missing MIlkLast night I restarted my old Facebook page, and explained on my blog what all had gone on.

I had not anticipated the response: Blog traffic was through the roof, comments coming in from old friends, new friends added, and a lively discussion.

It felt like old times.

Apparently, the Facebook shuffle had much more impact than I had realized. I will now refer to that period as “The Throttled Era.”

Even more perplexing were the comments from many longtime followers who seemed to think that I had taken three months off, and was now just returning to Facebook, and my blog. Vanished.

I’ve been here all the time. Granted, sometimes I felt invisible, or like a sick person in a world full of zombies. (Too obscure?) But I have been here, like always, cranking out the posts, typos included.

During The Throttled Era, which ran from October 2, 2014, until yesterday, I continued posting – 41 posts to be exact. And some of you missed them all.

There was a wild variety of topics and tones – some funny, some very serious. If you missed them, there is a solution. I did cross my 4th anniversary as MMM in December. It isn’t too late to send gifts.

Over there on the side —>  Yes, over there, —> and then scroll down….There is a heading that says “The Vast Archive.” Under that, you can choose whichever month you want to peruse. The months you might have missed were October, November, and December, 2014. (Some posts were actually decent and worth your time. I’m not going to presume to say which posts were better, but you guys can.)

So, there you go. You found me, hiding in plain sight.

Hiding

To those readers who fought through and kept up, you get a gold star on your foreheads.

Gold star

To those new friends and family who are now just discovering my blog, I welcome you with a big, awkward hug.

Comments

  1. I spend very little time reading blogs other than my own children’s. But, I do seem to find the time to read yours, because I find it thought-provoking, humorous, refreshing, and it adds a little something to my day. Thank you for sharing your insightfulness, and the gift you have to convey your thoughts and opinions so well through writing.

  2. I discovered when I visited Utah for an extended time (I’m still here) over Thanksgiving, Christmas and wedding that my dear oldest granddaughter follows you and loves you like I do. The apple doesn’t fall too far from the tree. She is married with two children AND a husband 🙂 She is my first granddaughter. I hope the other currently only 21 with eight greats will follow along.

  3. Love your blog, love its humor, love the pics, heck…I love it all and am SO glad I found it even though you were hiding in plain site! If I may be so bold to make a topic suggestion, I’d love to hear your thoughts on food storage/a year’s supply. Having been a bishop I think you’d bring a unique perspective to this commandment. Thanks MMM for all you do!! 🙂

  4. Gold star. Very pretty. But a little itchy. Kinda like cheap mohair. (If others can reference Brad Pitt, I reserve the right to reference bad yarn.)

  5. I don’t get what all the hub-bub is about. I’ve always gotten your posts, both on FB and through e-mail. So-send me 2 stars and that ham you mentioned last night. Really though, thanks for all the laughs and especially the thought-provoking messages you’ve left on the interwebs. I appreciate you and the work you do.

  6. I was with ya, but I am still confused!
But maybe you aren’t, which is nice.
Welcome back, from wherever you were!

  7. Haha, I love the pictures you put with your posts. I don’t comment much, but I have been reading your posts and occasionally reading them to my EC. Still love your blog.

  8. So about that hug…

Bacon is good. And if you don’t like bacon? You’re WRONG!

    ’nuff said.

And, thanks for the hug (and all your posts)!

  9. Thanks for the gold star. And is referencing mediocre Brad Pitt movies OK? I really enjoyed the ‘baby step’ reference in a more recent post. Carry on, MMM–I will continue to enjoy all your obscure references, along with the much more important gospel discussion. Love it all.

  10. WWZ was great. And I love gold stars! Hooray! Thanks. 🙂
Thank goodness you didn’t use the Voldemort awkward hug. That was creepy.

  11. Do I get a gold star even if I only read along, but don’t comment on FB much? 🙂

Add your 2¢. (Be nice.)
